The outer material is made of pure cotton and the inner lining is made of matching soft cotton fabric. This makes the bag particularly flexible and lightweight. A small production facility in Jaipur, India, makes the embroidered cotton bags under fair working conditions. No animal products are used in the manufacturing process and the cotton fabrics are printed by hand using a wooden stamp. The production facility thrives primarily on the uniquely beautiful block print process, which has a tradition in Jaipur. The artisans print the motifs and patterns onto the cotton fabrics by hand using large wooden stamps and natural, azo-free dyes. The production uses machines only on a small scale, such as irons and sewing machines, so that the small enterprise saves a lot of water and electricity compared to other large production facilities.
