The outer material is made of pure cotton and the inner lining is made of matching soft cotton fabric. This makes the bag particularly flexible and lightweight. A small production facility in Jaipur, India, manufactures the embroidered cotton bags under fair working conditions. The production avoids working with large machines, which saves large amounts of water and electricity. The resource-saving process reflects the relaxed working atmosphere. No animal products are used in the manufacturing process, and the cotton fabrics are hand-printed with a wooden block. The production facility thrives primarily on the uniquely beautiful block print process, which is a tradition in Jaipur. The staff print the motifs and patterns onto the cotton fabrics by hand using large wooden blocks and natural, azo-free dyes. The production uses machines only on a small scale, such as irons and sewing machines, so the small enterprise saves a lot of water and electricity compared to other large production facilities.
