What is Dokra?

Dokra is a lost-wax metal casting technique that originated in India over 4,000 years ago. Since then, it has been a tradition that is still maintained and continued today by a few smiths in villages in West Bengal and Orissa. Each individual object is handcrafted using its own unique mold, which is broken after the firing process. This makes every single metal piece, no matter how small, a one-of-a-kind item.
