What is Dokra?

Dokra is a lost-wax metal casting technique that originated in India over 4,000 years ago. Since then, it has been a tradition maintained and continued to this day by a few smiths in villages in West Bengal and Orissa. Each individual object is handcrafted using a custom mold that is broken after the firing process. This makes every piece of metal, no matter how small, a unique item.

Handmade Dokra Jewelry

From Dokra bracelets to Dokra necklaces and Dokra earrings – Dokra jewelry is handcrafted in the traditional way and brought to life. The subtly shimmering gold surface of Dokra jewelry does not tarnish, making it a long-lasting and beautiful companion. Its uniqueness gives the wearer of Dokra jewelry a special, individual touch that stands out clearly from all other types of jewelry.

Dokra Jewelry from India

We traveled to India and visited families who are keeping the Dokra tradition alive. The handmade Dokra jewelry is produced fairly and has a sustainable character. Every single piece of jewelry tells a story and is part of a centuries-old tradition. We are grateful partners and are pleased to be able to represent the Indian Dokra tradition in the Western world.

Ich komme aus: India

Our products from India are handmade. Through regular trips to India - to our partners and productions, we know the producers personally and always get exciting insights into the production process, where each production step takes place and, last but not least, who carries it out. We are fascinated by India, the craftsmanship and the tradition of the country, which are reflected in all products from India.
