Our scrunchies and soft cotton hair ties are little everyday treasures – handmade in collaboration with Bridge & Tunnel in Hamburg. Each individual piece is made from 100% cotton and lovingly crafted from fabric scraps sourced from upcycling a shipment of misproduced cotton dresses – including hand-blocked fabrics, screen-print remnants, and natural cotton textiles.

In this way, we turn small remnants into big favorites – for conscious style without compromises.

Fair, resource-friendly, and with a creative spirit

The outer material is made of pure cotton. A small production facility in Jaipur, India, produces the fabrics under fair working conditions. The production process avoids the use of large machinery, thereby saving significant amounts of water and electricity.

No animal products are used in the manufacturing process, and the cotton fabrics are hand-printed using wooden stamps. Since the employees apply the Kantha embroidery with cotton threads using a sewing machine and sew in the polyester inner part with a sewing machine, the result is a purely vegan product.

Resource-friendly

The production facility thrives primarily on the uniquely beautiful block-print process, which is a tradition in Jaipur. The employees print the motifs and patterns onto the cotton fabrics by hand using large wooden stamps with natural, azo-free dyes. The production uses machines only on a small scale, such as irons and sewing machines, so that the small business saves much more water and electricity compared to other large production facilities.
